Her world has gotten very small: a crying baby, an empty fridge, and a view of her only neighbor’s house across the cul-de-sac. You’d think an older woman living alone would sympathize with her, and maybe even help a girl out. But the strange red-haired woman cuts Cathy dead. Try as she might to convince herself that everything is all right, that she has everything she always wanted, and is in control of her life, reality sends her into a dizzying spiral. When it all comes to a shuddering stop, she realizes there is only one solution to all of her problems.
